The CQC rates most services according to how safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led they are. After being inspected, care homes are assigned one of the following four ratings:

Sometimes, the CQC doesn’t rate a service. In that case, the care home will be put into the “No rating/under appeal/rating suspended” category.
